Sunday’s pick six paid $7,313 for nine winning tickets, but the bet may be worth $8,776 to three of those ticketholders under a new bonus plan enacted Jan. 1 by Santa Anita.
The track is paying a 20 percent bonus to the winners of the pick six who place their bets ontrack. Ticketholders must be enrolled in the track’s Thoroughbreds Club frequent-customer program to be eligible for the bonus and must present their Thoroughbreds Club card to a mutuel clerk when placing pick-six bets.
Through January, the track will offer a retroactive bonus to ontrack customers who hit the pick six but have yet to sign up for the Thoroughbreds Club program. To be eligible for the retroactive bonus, customers must bring their winning pick-six tickets to an information window to complete the necessary documentation.
It was not known Sunday if the three ontrack ticketholders were eligible for bonuses.

SLIGO JOE finished third, fourth, or fifth against classier company in each of his last four races. He ran fast enough in his last two starts to beat this type on the plunge from $10,000 optional claiming into this $5,000 N1Y field. LATCH LIGHTING only finished fifth as the favorite at this class level last time. He should be a factor today, but he seems more likely to contend in the minor exotic slots than he is to beat this field. STEALTH HERO ran a dull race when he beat just one opponent here on a muddy track in his last race.
