Santa Anita: Pick five carryover of $335,216 for Sunday's program

ARCADIA, Calif. - There is a rare carryover in the 50-cent pick five at Santa Anita for Sunday’s program.

The bet proved too difficult on Saturday, resulting in a carryover of $335,216 for Sunday. The pool of new money on Sunday could surpass $2 million.

This is the first carryover in the pick five at Santa Anita since January 2015, when the bet had a carryover of $392,287 from a Saturday into a Sunday.

Bettors added $2,105,110 to the pool on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015. The results were formful that day, with three winning favorites, leading to a payoff of $710 for 3,102 ticketholders.

There is a nine-race program on Sunday.

The pick five covers the first five races which includes a $12,500 claimer at 6 1/2 furlongs, an optional claimer at a mile on turf, the Grade 3 Las Flores Stakes for fillies and mares at six furlongs, a maiden claimer at 1 1/16 miles, and a maiden claimer at six furlongs.

The races have fields of 6, 10, 5, 6, and 7.
