Santa Anita: Mizdirection to make next start April 13

Mizdirection will make her next start April 13 at either Santa Anita or Keeneland.

Mizdirection, the winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint last November and two Grade 2 stakes earlier this year, will make her next start at Santa Anita or Keeneland on April 13.

Trainer Mike Puype said he and the partnership that owns the 5-year-old mare are considering the $100,000 Las Cienegas Handicap on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita or the $300,000 Jenny Wiley Stakes over a mile on turf at Keeneland.

Puype said another goal is the $500,000 Just a Game Stakes over a mile on turf at Belmont Park on June 8. He said the decision on an April race “depends on whether we want to travel twice.”

Mizdirection has won 9 of 14 starts and $1,094,621. She won the Monrovia Stakes on the hillside turf course Jan. 6 and the Buena Vista Stakes over a mile on turf Feb. 18.

Last I checked the turf sprint at the Breeders Cup was not limited to California horses, and was in fact a full field, she pretty much did that sleepwalking. This horse is the real deal. I'm kind of curious as to what horses Wesley White is referring to that are going to beat Mizdirection on turf. Other than Wise Dan, noone can beat her.

They won't find the pickens so easy when they come East and take on legitimate graded stakes winners. Keep her in California and keep winning those over hyped allowance quality races.

Go to Keeneland. Win in front of 20,000 fans vs. 1500.
