Santa Anita: Longshots create $353,248 pick six carryover

ARCADIA, Calif. - There is a massive pick six carryover of $353,248 for Sunday’s eight-race program after longshots dominated Saturday’s card at Santa Anita.

Surprise wins in two of the day’s three stakes – I’ll Have Another ($88.60) in the Robert Lewis Stakes and Ultimate Eagle ($17) in the Strub Stakes – contributed to Sunday’s carryover. Going into Saturday’s final leg, only one horse was covered, Fiddlers Afleet. He finished second to 8-5 favorite Setsuko.

Sunday’s program begins at 11 a.m. Pacific, with the pick six covering the third through eighth races. The races are beginning earlier than normal to accommodate racegoers who want to be home before the start of the Super Bowl at 3:29 p.m., Pacific.

The first pick six race on Sunday has a post time of approximately noon, Pacific.

At Saturday’s scratch time, there were scratches in the final two legs. In the seventh race, the $200,000 San Antonio Stakes, Tres Borrachos has been withdrawn, leaving a field of six.

In the eighth race, Corn Maze and Tiz Victorious are scratched from a maiden claimer over six furlongs.
