Santa Anita: Executiveprivilege back on work tab

Email

Executiveprivilege, a finalist for the Eclipse Award as the nation’s outstanding 2-year-old filly of 2012, worked three furlongs in 36 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday, her first workout since early December.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Executiveprivilege worked alone under jockey Julien Leparoux. Baffert timed Executiveprivilege in 35.80, galloping out a half-mile in “48 and change.”

Owned by Mike Pegram, Karl Watson, and Paul Weitman, Executiveprivilege has won 5 of 7 starts and $940,000. She won her first five starts, including two Grade 1 stakes, but was second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies in November and fourth in the Hollywood Starlet Stakes on Dec. 8.

There are two major stakes at the Santa Anita meeting that could be on Executiveprivilege’s schedule – the $250,000 Las Virgenes Stakes on March 2 and the $300,000 Santa Anita Oaks on April 6.
