Santa Anita: Eblouissante working steadily

Eblouissante is nominated to the the Jan. 20 La Canada.

ARCADIA, Calif. - Eblouissante, a half-sister to 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta, worked five furlongs in 1:00.80 on Saturday at Hollywood Park.

A 4-year-old filly, Eblouissante is nominated for the $150,000 La Canada Stakes over 1 1/16 miles for 4-year-old fillies on Jan. 20.

Trained by John Shirreffs for breeder Eric Kronfeld, Eblouissante has made one start, winning a maiden race impressively over 1 1/16 miles at Hollywood Park on Nov. 16.

Eblouissante was entered in an optional claimer at Hollywood Park on Dec. 15, but was scratched 30 minutes before the race after striking her hip on a door in the backstretch receiving barn. In the last month, Eblouissante has had four workouts.
