Santa Anita carryover at $102,706

ARCADIA, Calif. - A string of longshots on Thursday produced a carryover of $102,706 for Friday's eight-race program at Santa Anita.

The pick six covers the third through eighth races on Friday's program, which could be affected by rain early Friday.

There are no late scratches in Friday's pick six races, all of which are run on the main track.

The bet begins in the third race, run over 1 1-16 miles for 4-year-olds entered to be claimed for $18,000 to $20,000. Six of the seven runners are listed at 6-1 or less on the morning-line. Silver Past is the 2-1 favorite.

The fourth race is run over a mile for 3-year-old maiden claimers. Beau, who drew the rail, is the 2-1 favorite on the morning-line.

West Coast Gee Gee is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in the fifth race, run over a mile for $9,000 to $10,000 claimers. Darlin Corey and Andrea's Angel will attract support.

The sixth race is an optional claimer over 1 1-16 miles. The field of six is led by Borrego, who was second to Smarty Jones in the Arkansas Derby last year. Borrego was winless last year, and is using the race as a prep to the Santa Anita Handicap or New Orleans Handicap in March.

The final race is run over a mile for maiden claimers. Hollywoodsetright, Early Tide, Boginskaia, Twister Alley and Romancing the Road are contenders in an open race.
