Email

Truly Sunlit closed from last place to win Saturday night's $30,000 Bayou City Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston. It was a length back in second to pacesetter French Lass, who finished 2 3/4 lengths clear of favorite Sly Kona.

Truly Sunlit ($14.60) raced about six lengths behind a solid pace in the six-furlong stakes for 3-year-old fillies, then swept past the leaders through the stretch to win over a fast track in 1:11.60. Sidney LeJeune Jr. had the mount for trainer Bret Thomas. Truly Sunlit earned $18,000 for the win, her third in six starts. Her bankroll now stands at $48,610.
