Salt Lake, Illinois Storm kin top tab

A pair of 2-year-olds by Salt Lake and Illinois Storm were the Barretts May sale's fastest workers over an eighth of a mile last weekend, breezing the distance in 10 seconds.

The preview days on Saturday and Sunday were held in advance of the Barretts May auction, which was scheduled for Tuesday at Fairplex Park in Pomona, Calif.

Hip No. 183, a Salt Lake filly out of the stakes-placed Sefapiano mare Amy Leighn, is consigned by Sunrise Stable South, agent. Hip No. 325, an Illinois Storm colt out of the Exclusive One mare Jonathan's Miss, is offered by the B.C.3. Thoroughbreds agency on behalf of Early Equine.

The fastest quarter-mile workout time was the 21 seconds posted by Hip No. 79, a Lake Austin filly also consigned by Sunrise Stable South, agent. The filly is the first foal from the unraced Red Ransom mare Red Royalty, a daughter of Grade 3 winner Inquisitive Look.

Hip No. 214, the Murray Smith agency's Stephen Got Even filly out of stakes winner Bright Asset (Private Account), posted the preview days' best three-furlong work time of 33.40 seconds.
