Salt Lake filly fastest under tack

Hip No. 214, a Salt Lake-Checkerspot filly from Old South Farm's consignment, breezed a quarter-mile in 21.00 seconds, the fastest worker for the distance at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's preview show in Florida. The under-tack shows took place on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and presented lots due to sell at the OBS March juvenile sale in Ocala on March 18-19.

The under-tack workouts originally had been scheduled to take place at the OBS facility in Ocala, Fla., on Saturday and Sunday, but a severe thunderstorm caused sale officials to postpone much of the preview until Monday morning.

A dozen juveniles turned in one-eighth-mile times of 10.20 seconds. They were Hip No. 27, an Alphabet Soup-Sam's Sylvia; Hip No. 29, a Mr. Greeley-Saratoga Ack colt; Hip No. 41, a Tale of the Cat-Sheza Valentine filly; Hip No. 83, a Storm Boot-Take No Prisoners colt; Hip No. 104, a Peaks and Valleys-To Be Paid colt; Hip No. 117, a Good and Tough-Tunita colt; Hip No. 164, a Storm Boot-Anawac colt; Hip No. 231, a Deputy Commander-Constant Companion colt; Hip No. 242, a Wild Rush-Dancehall Floozy colt; Hip No. 264, a Two Punch-Duds colt; Hip No. 334, a Sultry Song-Hollywood Chief colt; and Hip No. 499, a Forest Wildcat-Puff O Luck filly.
