Runway Rosie wins Sharp Cat

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Runway Rosie won her second consecutive start and her stakes debut in Sunday's $100,000 Sharp Cat Stakes at Hollywood Park. But jockey Garrett Gomez had to urge the 2-year-old filly in the final furlong after she appeared to be waiting for her rivals after making the lead.

Runway Rosie ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:45.40, winning by a half-length over Spenditallbaby. Back in the Shade finished third in the field of six.

Runway Rosie ($12) was fifth early while racing on the rail, rallied between fillies in early stretch and reached the front past the eighth pole.

Runway Rosie races for Class Racing Stable and Allen and Leslie Rosenblum. Trained by David Hofmans, Runway Rosie has won two of four starts and $88,060. She is a candidate for the Hollywood Starlet Stakes on Dec. 17, Hofmans said.
