Run All Day must settle in route

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - The versatile Run All Day will likely be favored in Friday's Woodbine headliner, and she should be tough if she isn't overly rank early in the first-level allowance for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles on Polytrack.

Run All Day, trained by Brian Lynch for Stronach Stable, fared okay on the grass in her first two starts at 2, finishing fourth and then second. She switched to Polytrack last November in her third appearance and wound up second after surrendering the lead in late stretch.

Run All Day ran three times over the winter on the dirt at Gulfstream. In her first attempt with Lasix on Jan. 24, she was beaten a neck after getting steadied twice.

Run All Day finally graduated Feb. 22, scoring by three lengths after being steadied on the backstretch. She was awarded an 81 Beyer Speed Figure in that one-mile maiden special, from which the third horse exited to win her next outing by 13 lengths at Aqueduct.

Run All Day was very rank while buried in behind rivals during a one-mile allowance March 26, dead-heating for second with one of her Friday rivals, Harmonious Union. She breezed five-eighths in a bullet 59.80 seconds the other day at the Palm Meadows Training Center, and Patrick Husbands has the mount.

Harmonious Union, a $50,000 claim by trainer Alec Fehr in November, kicked off her stint at Gulfstream with an unplaced effort on turf. After shipping back here in April, she finished a wide fifth in an allowance sprint that was won by favored Closing Speed.

Tyler Pizarro retains the mount on Harmonious Union.

Other possibilities in the race include Ailbe, Bear's Lightning, and Bedtime Story.

Ailbe wired maiden special weight opponents a month ago on the grass at Gulfstream, earning an 82 Beyer. She finished a flat fifth in her lone Polytrack try here in October.

Bear's Lightning led the way before weakening to third behind two of these in an allowance on Dec. 4, which came on the heels of her maiden victory in another 1 1/16-mile route on the Poly. She failed to keep up in a March 8 allowance at Gulfstream but was narrowly beaten in Closing Speed's recent victory.

Bedtime Story, fifth in the Grade 3 Mazarine Stakes in October, had a troubled break before finishing up the track in a minor stakes at the Ocala Training Center in February.
