Ruidoso: Dominguez has trio lined up for First Lady

Email

Trainer Henry Dominguez is coming at them with numbers Sunday in the $50,000 First Lady at Ruidoso Downs. The six-furlong race for fillies and mares is the first Thoroughbred stakes of the New Mexico meet that opened on Friday.

Dominguez’s representatives are She’smylittleman, winner of the $50,000 Czaria last out at Sunland Park; Bab at the Bowster, who won an allowance at SunRay Park in her last start May 5; and Free Range, who comes off a seven-length score in an optional $25,000 claimer at Sunland.

She’smylittleman figures to go favored in the First Lady. She tracked the pace and drew clear by more than three lengths in the Czaria, a six-furlong race for fillies and mares April 7. In the process, She’smylittleman defeated four  horses she faces again in the First Lady: Squiggle, who ran second in the Czaria; Bab at the Bowster, who was fourth; Pyrite On My Mind, who was fifth; and Came West, who was sixth. Enrique Gomez has the mount on She’smylittleman for Tommy Town Thoroughbreds.
