Rocco sweeps both stakes

Scary Bob made amends for his failure at even-money in this same race last year when he held off 7-5 favorite Tartlett by a neck in the $50,300 Delaware Certified Stakes at Delaware Park.

The win gave jockey Joe Rocco a sweep of the card's two stakes, which were restricted to horses that spent 90 days in Delaware prior to turning 2.

The 5-year-old Scary Bob ($5.60), based at Finger Lakes with trainer Chris Englehart, has now won three in a row and 7 of 24 lifetime. He covered six furlongs on a sloppy track in 1:10.88. He finished third in the 2005 Delaware Certified.

Rocco, a late replacement for Jeremy Rose, guided Five Star Dream ($3.40) to a 1 1/2-length victory over Gotta Rush in the $48,500 Delaware Certified Distaff.

Trained by Mike Gorham, Five Star Dream was making her stakes debut after winning her maiden in her seventh career start in July and taking a first-level allowance in August. One of only four starters, Five Star Dream ran the six furlongs in 1:12.46.
