River Downs track report

The familiar green and pink silks of Juddmonte Farms will make a rare appearance at River Downs in the seventh race Friday. Swaggering, a 3-year-old colt trained by Chris Speckert, raced competitively at Fair Grounds over the winter and is a stickout in the one-mile maiden event.

Juddmonte Farms was awarded the Eclipse Award as outstanding owner of 2003 and has won the Eclipse as outstanding breeder the last three years.

* The Daily Racing Form is sponsoring a free handicapping seminar Saturday at Finnegan's Bar on the mezzanine level of the grandstand. The seminar begins at 12:15 p.m. Saturday also is the beginning of the grass racing season. Weather permitting, the fourth race, a starter allowance for older fillies and mares, will be run over the turf at one mile.

* After racing only weekends to begin the meet, River Downs will revert to its normal schedule this coming week with racing on Monday and Tuesday. With some exceptions, Wednesday will be the only dark day for the remainder of the meet.
