River Downs track report

The weekend stakes action will begin early with the $40,000 Tah Dah Stakes scheduled as the sixth race on Friday's program. The 5 1/2-furlong Tah Dah is restricted to Ohio-bred 2-year-old fillies.

The Tim Hamm-trained entry of Kiosk and Ifufeelfroggyleap may start as favorite in a 14-horse field that has attracted eight maidens. Kiosk, who makes her fourth start in less than a month, was checked repeatedly and ended up third facing colts in the Cleveland Kindergarten Stakes at Thistledown on July 6. That race came on the heels of a workmanlike maiden win against fillies at Thistledown the week before.

Ifufeelfroggyleap had a hard time in her stakes debut, in the Prairie Gold Lassie at Prairie Meadows, where she finished last of eight, beaten more than 23 lengths. However, her impressive four-length win against open company at Arlington going 4 1/2 furlongs suggests she is capable of better.

My Favorite Girl, who graduated by nearly 11 lengths at River Downs two weeks ago, may vie for favoritism as she has the highest Beyer Speed Figure (69). She had previous placed in one of two starts against maiden claimers at Churchill.

Da Dance and Whitewater Way, who each graduated against Ohio-breds in their most recent start, also have competitive Beyers and could figure with improvement.
