River Downs: Swiss Miss a threat to I'm Kiddin in Cincinnatian

I’m Kiddin will try to make it two in a row when she faces six other 3-year-old Ohio-accredited fillies in the $50,000 Cincinnatian, a 1 1/16-mile turf race at River Downs.

Trained by Kathy Lowry, I’m Kiddin drew off to win an entry-level statebred allowance May 27 going six furlongs by nearly nine lengths. It was the first win of the year in three attempts for I’m Kiddin.

Lowry also sends out Diamond in the Funk for M Y Stables but the two will not be coupled in the wagering. Racing secretary Ed Vomacka received permission from the Ohio State Racing Commission to uncouple entries for the race because so few horses were nominated. Ben Creed will ride for the first time.

Swiss Miss Too is bred for the turf and has beaten I’m Kiddin in the past. Last year in the Glacial Princess at Beulah Park on Nov, 5, Swiss Miss Too beat I’m Kiddin by a neck. Trained by Bobby Cline, Swiss Miss Too sports a Tomlinson turf figure of 361, meaning she should improve greatly on the grass. Edgar Paucar will ride.

The Ohio accredited division is the more restrictive of the Ohio-bred horses as both sire and dam must be in Ohio. Others in the field include Child Proof, Magnetism, Just like Hermother, and Isadella.
