River Downs: Indian Ink leaves Vivacious rivals far behind

CINCINNATI - Indian Ink ran away from the field in the stretch to win the $50,000 Vivacious at River Downs on Saturday afternoon.

Jockey Perry Ouzts kept the 6-year-old mare on the hedge to the far turn of the mile and a sixteenth turf event before angling her out on the turn and drawing off to an impressive seven-length win. Trained by Mike Rone, Indian Ink had previously won the Vivacious prep here on July 16.

Longshot Derby Day Storm was second at odds of 45-1, three lengths in front of pacesetting Country Club Sue in third.

Indian Ink returned $8.80 as the second choice and was timed over a firm turf course in 1.43.24.
