Rich co-features for Quarter Horses

Delta Downs is building a reputation as a track where 2-year-olds come to earn big money. Last year, Z Humor shipped in and won the Grade 3, $1 million Delta Jackpot in a dead heat, and on Saturday he will run in the Kentucky Derby.

A few hours after he races, Delta will offer 2-year-old Louisiana-bred Quarter Horses a chance at $560,900 in futurity purses in the $277,400 Laddie and $283,500 Lassie.

Trainer Heath Taylor will be well-represented in the Laddie. He will start Mdt Streetfighter, who set the fastest qualifying time for the race when he won his 330-yard trial in 16.77 seconds April 18.

Taylor's other starter is fifth-fastest qualifier Jess Dashing Bye, who has won his last two starts.

In the Lassie, Good Game Meg owns the fastest qualifying time. She set it on April 17, when she won her career debut in a 330-yard trial, covering the distance in 16.85 seconds.
