Rgirldoesn'tbluff all the way

EmailRgirldoesn'tbluff ($27.40) took advantage of a speed-biased racetrack, leading throughout to post a 3 1/2-length upset over even-money favorite Stolen Prayer in the $100,000 U Can Do It Handicap at Calder.

Rgirldoesn'tbluff, a 4-year-old daughter of Pine Bluff, has been back under the shed row of trainer Kirk Ziadie since finishing a well-beaten seventh behind Stolen Prayer in the Ema Bovary Stakes on June 10.

Breaking alertly under jockey Jose Rivera II, Rgirldoesn'tbluff controlled the pace through rapid fractions of 21.97 and 44.86 seconds, settled into the stretch with a comfortable advantage, and was never seriously threatened the rest of the way.

Stolen Prayer, back on the main track after finishing fifth in the Distaff Turf Sprint Championship Handicap in her previous start, was reserved off the leader following a sharp beginning of her own. She had dead aim on the winner leaving the turn but failed to make up any ground while failing to change leads through the stretch. Annabill also raced within easy striking distance while wide exiting the turn but failed to muster a closing response while finishing another three-quarters of a length farther back in third.

A Sea Trippi, the defending U Can Do It champ, finished last in the field of seven older fillies and mares.

Rgirldoesn'tbluff, a two-time stakes winner locally last fall, covered six furlongs in 1:17.25 over the fast strip.
