ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Jockey Chantal Sutherland won her third consecutive Woodbine stakes on Saturday aboard favored Resentless in the 55th running of the $151,200 Fury.

Resentless ($4.40) broke a bit slowly and then set fractions of 22.83 seconds and 45.24 in the seven-furlong sprint for Ontario-bred 3-year-old fillies. She drew away from a stalking Jenny's So Great early in the stretch, before coasting home on top by five lengths in a quick final time of 1:21.66. Roan Inish closed inside to edge out Oil Painting by a neck for second in the eight-horse field.

It was the first start of the year for the Ian Howard-trained Resentless, who banked $90,000 for owner Donald Ross.

"I think she's developed nicely into this year," said Sutherland, who also won two stakes in April, the Woodstock aboard Essence Hit Man and the Whimsical Stakes on Proud Heiress. "She feels stronger, more coordinated, and more athletic. She's hitting the ground a little lighter, and I like her intensity."
