Remington: Quarter Horse Futurity trials span two days

A marathon run of 24 trials for the $780,000 Remington Park Quarter Horse Futurity will begin Saturday night at the Oklahoma City track and continue through Sunday afternoon. There will be 12 trials on each program, with a 13-race card Sunday to include the Grade 3, $35,000 Pauls Valley at 870 yards for Quarter Horses.

The five fastest qualifiers from each day will advance to the Remington Park Futurity finale April 16. The race had traditionally been for open company, but this year has been changed to a restricted stakes for horses bred in Oklahoma. Each trial will be run at 330 yards, with a purse of $15,000.

Saturday night’s card will begin at 6 p.m. Central, with the Sunday program set for 1:30 p.m. The finale will be held on a night card, along with the $280,000 Remington Park Derby.
