Remington: Princess Jen in Lady's Secret

Apparently there are a lot of female sprinters in the Mid-South region. Remington Park, like Louisiana Downs, is running a seven-furlong stakes for fillies and mares on Sunday. The race at Remington is the $35,000 Lady's Secret, and among the 13 entered is Princess Jen, who won both the Majorette and the Lady's Secret last year, when the Majorette was run Oct. 5 and the Lady's Secret Nov. 17.

Others in the Lady's Secret include Sarah Jade, who was fourth last out in a $100,000 optional claimer at Hawthorne; Bayakoa's Image, who has won two statebred stakes at Remington this meet by a combined 19 lengths; and stakes winners Devout Sinner, Cherylville Slew, and Market's Best.

Princess Jen finished strongly to win the Majorette a year ago, then a few weeks later was a 1 1/2-length winner of the Lady's Secret. The concern for her in the Lady's Secret is pace. Will there be enough to fuel her late run? It appears she might get what she needs with the presence of such quick-footed rivals as Bayakoa's Image, Sira, Frilly Fun, and Leona's Lies.

Robert Lester has the mount on Princess Jen for trainer Kari Craddock.

o Ten Most Wanted has been voted horse of the meet at Louisiana Downs. He won the track's Grade 2, $500,000 Super Derby in September.
