Remington Park: Challenge Championship on high-octane card

The Grade 2, $100,000 Oklahoma Challenge Championship for Quarter Horses is one of three stakes on a power-packed Sunday card at Remington Park. The program also features four trial races for the Heritage Place Derby.

Llano Teller, the winner of last year's All American Derby at Ruidoso Downs, makes his second start of the year in the Oklahoma Challenge. In his seasonal debut last out, he was beaten a neck by reigning World Champion Cold Cash 123 in the $100,000 Leo Stakes at Remington. Llano Teller will break from post 5 under jockey G.R. Carter Jr., who had a five-win day last week at Remington.

The winner of the Oklahoma Challenge gets a berth into the Grade 1, $350,000 Challenge Championship this fall at Prairie Meadows. Remington is also running two other challenge qualifiers Sunday, the Oklahoma Distaff Challenge and the Grade 3 Oklahoma Distance Challenge.
