Remington: Medium Rare again?

Medium Rare will attempt to win his third consecutive $35,000 Chuck Taliaferro Memorial on Saturday night at Remington Park in Oklahoma City. But his task will not be easy, as the six-furlong race drew a competitive group of sprinters, topped by Joyful Tune, Where's the Ring and Dance and Dazzle.

Medium Rare, now 7, is the elder statesman of the Taliaferro. But, he still has much in his favor Saturday.

For one, Medium Rare has been almost unstoppable at Remington. He has won 11 of 19 starts over the main track there, including the 2001 and 2002 runnings of the Taliaferro.

Medium Rare also tends to run well fresh, and will be coming into this race on the heels of a three-month layoff. Cliff Berry has the mount for JDR Stable and trainer Roger Engel.
