Chris Kotulak, a former anchor and reporter for the horse racing network TVG, has been hired by Remington Park as the track's communications associate. The Oklahoma City track will open its 67-date meet Aug. 18.

Kotulak, a 49-year-old native of Omaha, Neb., will be appearing on Remington’s television simulcasts with longtime host Joy Rose and will also call the races on occasion for announcer Dale Day. Kotulak’s responsibilities will extend to television production and marketing, with one of his platforms being a 50-foot high infield video board that Remington installed after the close of last year’s Thoroughbred meet.

“The super-screen TV monitor is it’s own entity,” Kotulak said. “It’s being treated not only as an aid to the handicapper, but also as a marketing outreach to the fans.”

Kotulak was a host and handicapper with TVG from 2003 to 2011. He got his start in racing as a Nebraska-based hotwalker. Kotulak went on to become the announcer at Fonner Park in 1986. He was also the announcer at Hollywood Park in 2000, and has been the voice of Louisiana Downs, Delta Downs, and Will Rogers Downs.
