Remington: Herecomesbert seeks better trip in feature

The results of Saturday’s second race at Louisiana Downs will be worth noting for those who will be playing Remington Park in Oklahoma City on Saturday night. If the capable Royal Hay Patch runs well in Bossier City, it would bode well for Herecomesbert, who heads Remington’s featured sixth race, a second-level allowance at six furlongs.

The horses met last out at Louisiana Downs, with Royal Hay Patch finishing third and Herecomesbert sixth after a troubled trip. Herecomesbert earned a 78 Beyer, the best last-race number in the Remington field. Cliff Berry has the mount for trainer Bret Calhoun.

The five-horse field also drew stakes winners Behold de Buy and Sooner Red.

Retama: Rich double for Quarter Horses

Retama Park near San Antonio will put on two rich Quarter Horse stakes Saturday night for the final program of its mixed meet.

The Grade 2, $130,541 Sires’ Cup Futurity is led by the Guy Hopkins-trained entry of A Game Dame and Austiano, both of whom are 3-for-4. The Grade 3, $70,000 Sires’ Cup Derby is topped by stakes winner Eyes Blew by You.
