Red Mile: Saturday 9/29 Analysis

Email

Best Bet: Captaintreacherous (11th)     Spot: Pet Rock (7th)

Race 1

(4) HUMILITY certainly looks fast enough to compete with this group and the price should be right. (2) EDDIE SWEAT is definitely the one to beat. (3) BLATANTLY BEST only has one miscue on his card and he almost overcame the break that day; things to like.

Race 2

(4) DOVUTO HANOVER hit a snag in the form of a tough trip last time. There is plenty of talent here, as evidenced by the new ownership following the start at the Meadows. (1) EMERITUS MAXIMUS freshened up and qualified back nicely behind the top 2yo colt in the game. (2) DRESS THE PART has been keeping good company lately.

Race 3

(4) FOOL ME ONCE has been in against the best of his division lately and finally draws into a softer spot. I’m expecting a wake up mile. (5) OUR DRAGON KING has the prettiest lines on paper; very dangerous. (7) SIR RICHARD Z TAM has stepped up before and won’t be hurt by papa Lachance getting into the bike.

Race 4

(5) ODDS ON EQUULEUS does his best work from off the pace and this surface and track should play right into his comfort zone. (1) ROCKIN AMADEUS has the bloodlines to be great and seems to be involved every week, but his one career win leaves you wanting. (6) JOHNY ROCK has shown he can play with these; good qualifier.

Race 5

(4) ROMANTIC MOMENT has been super all year. With a win and a loss by American Jewel later tonight, she can move to the head of the division. (3) SHELLISCAPE showed she has game at Delaware and this track probably fits her better. (2) RAMALAMA posted her best career race here. (5) BIG MCDEAL certainly has a shot. (7) DARENA HANOVER may have won the Jugette but this race did not come up easy.

Race 6

(6) MY MVP finally finds himself in an easy spot. He really should win this week. (9) RICCOLO posted a nice workout mile in the Su Mac Lad and now faces somewhat better foes; respect. (3) WEINGARTNER kept to his business with hobbles added; capable. (5) NATURAL FORCES has been a win machine; class test tonight.

Race 7

(5) PET ROCK has been a bridesmaid way too often lately. This is the perfect spot for him to step up and make his mark. (1) THINKING OUT LOUD is much better from off the pace and that rarely works in the Jug. Let’s look for more from him tonight and perhaps a bit of speed. (4) BETTORS EDGE picks up more checks than a waiter. Every week he picks up some money in these big-money events. (7) A ROCKNROLL DANCE can’t be faulted for the lackluster finishes from outside posts in the Jug. Something tells me this will be an easier week for him; off the pace?

Race 8

(4) ECONOMY TERROR scratched out of the second heat of the Jugette and I don’t blame her connections. She should be tight off the mile and ready for a big effort. (3) AMERICAN JEWEL did what she could from tough spots in the Jugette. She has proven to be the fastest in this division but hasn’t been able to perform consistently in some time. (1) SARANDON BLUE CHIP steps up with a big mile now and then.

Race 9

(4) ROAR displayed some early signs of ability before getting time off. His return qualifiers were solid and I would imagine he has developed some in the last two months. (3) FRESH N FAST has shown he can go with this group. (10) ULTIMATE BEACHBOY switches to Lachance; could help.

Race 10

(3) BOLT THE DUER is another who scratched out of the second heat of the Jug. This guy has really enjoyed this track while beating up on lesser and deserves the nod. (6) SWEET LOU raced as well as I have seen him at Delaware. He is one that I could see coming up with a freaky mile in Lexington. (7) DAPPER DUDE could have a chance with the right trip.

Race 11

(7) CAPTAINTREACHEROUS is having a super freshman year and merits the call. (5) HAIL THE TAXI chased home the top one for second in the Wilson and could offer some value. (8) APRENTICE HANOVER is loaded with talent; clear player.

Race 12

(2) WAKE UP PETER doesn’t show a lot of 1’s in his lines but has natural ability. He drew into one of the weaker splits of the series and should bring a nice effort. (5) URBANITE HANOVER adds Pierce. I can see the fresh set of hands making a difference. (8) THIRTY TWO RED might be better than his recent lines indicate.
