Race 6 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: BUCKLE UP (1st)

Spot Play: NO REASON AT ALL (6th)

Race 1

(7) BUCKLE UP might have had a good trip but did destroy most of these last week. It would be hard to pick against him on Saturday. (4) THINK AGAIN finished up with pace in his first start since the beginning of August. (2) MAJOR WAR did all the work in the race that the top choice won; exotics player.

Race 2

(5) SHOW BIZ HALL cruised against a similar bunch last time and sticks out on paper. (6) SMART AS A WHIP gets some major class relief this week. Can he stay trotting? (4) MR LUKY LUKE tried in his career debut but is certainly eligible to improve. (7) FLYIN N GLIDIN could be dangerous if he ever behaves.

Race 3

(6) BET YOU catches a much easier group this week and should have every chance to take charge. (5) OLLIE POP has never missed the board in eight starts against Ohio breds. He'll get tested in this spot but may be up to the task. (8) PV COMING HOME raced well fresh off the fair scene; outside post the only issue.

Race 4

(2) ASAP HANOVER was simply super last week despite missing over a month of action. This is a colt with a potentially nice future. (6) RICH WISDOM has posted two very nice efforts in back-to-back weeks; main danger. (1) MCARDLES LIGHTNING could push away from the inside and save ground for a good trip.

Race 5

(1) FREEDOMFORMYSOUL raced better last week over this surface than she had over the previous 4-6 weeks. She got caught in a fast mile that night. (5) PIERCE HANOVER was aimed high up in Canada and certainly seems like a reasonable fit if he brings his best game. (2) LOST FOR WORDS wasn't quite as good winning as the line looks. He was bearing in through the stretch. (7) GALLIC BEACH merits consideration.

Race 6

(5) NO REASON AT ALL posted a credible even mile in his career debut for trainer Erv Miller. It is worth noting that the three horses that beat him would all be odds-on in this spot. (8) ONE DIRECTION gets class relief and only needs to mind his manners. (3) FORDALUVACHOCOLATE showed speed and came to the rim late in the mile for another bid. With a clean trip he could menace. (7) FERRAGAMO has been racing okay but needs to go faster.

Race 7

This is a tough race to decipher because of the draw. (6) UFFIZI HANOVER displayed signs of life last week with a 26 2/5 final quarter. If she can find a way to set up behind cover, watch out! (3) IT WAS FASCINATION has tactical speed which some of the others in the field lack. (8) GETTINGREADYTOROLL is the fastest horse in the race but is stuck with an outside post and no early speed in her arsenal. (5) NAT A VIRGIN gets a catch-driver back in the bike and has proven capable of a nice mile on the engine in the past.

Race 8

(4) HE'S WATCHING looked much better last week in the Bluegrass when he came first over into a slow pace and sprinted home in 25 4/5. This looks like a spot where he'll be put into play at the onset and sit no worse than second. (1) ALWAYS B MIKI has immense speed and deserves all the respect in the world. One of the top two almost have to win this race. (3) BEAT THE DRUM has a chance to get into the trifecta at a healthy price.

Race 9

(5) GALLIE BYTHE BEACH picked up her game for new driver Tim Tetrick and simply doesn't face a scray group of sophomore fillies. (3) PRECOCIOUS BEAUTY raced better last week with Brian Sears in the bike. Does she continue the good times with McNair? (7) ACT NOW is consistent but not very game in the lane.

Race 10

(6) IN THE ARSENAL came up with a huge mile last week and certainly looked like the real deal. With (1) ARTSPEAK undefeated, you can expect a reasonable price. Artspeak has done everything that has been asked of him but faces some legitimate horses and isn't worth the short price. (4) BLOOD BROTHER raced pretty well last time considering he missed five weeks of action following some sickness. I'm expecting more this week. (3) CARTOON DADDY has won two straight and deserves a look.

Race 11

(6) JK ENDOFANERA comes off a nice score on a track that was far from 'fast' that night. I expect him to be ready for a career best mile. (4) MELMERBY BEACH was a bit steppy last week but hearing that issue has been addressed. (3) LET'S DRINK ON IT gets a driver change to Brian Sears. This colt has a big shot but seems likely to be overbet.

Race 12

(7) JOE HILL really lucked out into the softest division of this series. Tony Alagna-trained colt has ability and gets a chance to shine. (1) TALKING POINTS should protect position from the inside and be a factor, but he is winless in eight starts. (4) DUDE'S THE MAN rallied nicely last week after missing 21 days.

Race 13

(5) ODDS ON AMETHYST was a new horse in his Takter barn debut. This guy has always had talent and it seems he is finally realizing his potential. (9) DAMFOOLRMILLIONAIR was backed into last week costly him any chance of competing. (1) PROPULSION has been racing pretty well. (10) DONCANGO gets some needed class relief.
