Dealt A Winner thundered into the lead from first-over on the final bend and went on to a 1:47 3/5 lifetime-best victory in the $119,000 Allerage Farms Open Pace on Saturday afternoon at The Red Mile. Check Six (Yannick Gingras) was in the lead in the first-half of the mile, chopping out a 27 second opening quarter and a 53 1/5 half, but Dealt A Winner (David Miller) moved first-over out of fifth at the half, and he would become the new leader by the time the 1:20 three-quarters went on the board. McWicked (Brian Sears) followed Dealt A Winner from second-over and then dove inside him in the lane, but Dealt A Winner was resolute and kept him at bay to win by about half a length.  Mel Mara (Corey Callahan) and Easy Lover Hanover (Doug McNair) rounded out the top-four finishers. "He's a good little horse. He just needs the right kind of trip," said Miller. "I was hoping to flush some cover and it didn't work, but he held really game and he's usually pretty good when he does that." The victorious 5-year-old Cam's Card Shark gelding is trained by Mark Silva and owned by Jeff Snyder.  This was Dealt A Winner's 14th career win, and he has now banked $952,870.  Sent off as 2-1 favorite, Dealt A Winner paid $6.80 to win. "David Miller seems to be the key. There are other guys that do well together too, but those guys are really good together," added Silva.
