LEXINGTON, Ky. - A $1,953,200 Indian Ridge filly set a new auction record for the Deauville select yearling sales in Deauville, France, on Saturday.

Through Monday, the third day of Deauville's five-session auction, the overall market was down from last year, reflecting a general downward trend in the boutique yearling marketplace.

Through Monday's session, the auction had sold 231 lots for $22,727,810. The auction's gross dropped 26 percent from last year, when 222 lots sold. Three-day average fell 29 percent to $98,389. The buy-back rate for the same period also jumped from last year's figure of 20 percent to this year's 31 percent.

The probable sale-topping filly went to Gainsborough Stud Management from the Haras d'Etreham consignment.

The sale was to continue through Wednesday.
