Rebranded set a track record for 1 1/16  miles at Sunland Park on Saturday, when he won the $50,000 Curribot Handicap in 1:40.64. Rebranded was a two-length winner over Smack Ridge, while it was another neck back in third to favorite Isn’t He Clever. Rebranded's time lowered the mark of 1:41.06 that Midnight Lucky set in the Sunland Park Oaks on March 24, 2013, according to track spokesman Eric Alwan. The Curribot, for 4-year-olds and up, is expected to produce starters for the Sunland Park Handicap. Rebranded ($6.20) found the front into the first turn of the Curribot, then shook free through fractions of 22.23 seconds for the opening quarter, 46.93 for the half-mile, and 1:09.81 for six furlongs. Isn’t He Clever took up the chase on the final turn and in the stretch, but Rebranded had more to win on a fast track, with Ry Eikleberry aboard for trainer Justin Evans. Rebranded, who races for Tony Pennington, picked up his fourth career stakes win. He has now won 6 of 16 starts and earned $289,950. Rebranded is a 4-year-old son of Tiznow and was bred in Kentucky by Mt. Brilliant Farm & Ranch, LLC.
