Real Quiet shows some improvement

Real Quiet, the 1998 Kentucky Derby winner and champion 3-year-old, was continuing treatment at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center for abscesses in both hind feet on Thursday but was comfortable and showing improvement, according to syndicate manager Mike Jester.

Jester, who visited the 12-year-old Quiet American horse Thursday afternoon, said the most recent abscess, in the right hind, was draining.

"The horse is really happier and doing well," Jester said.
