Ready to Dance goes for a whirl at OBS show

Email

The fastest horse of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. winter mixed sale under-tack show Monday was Ready to Dance, who covered three furlongs in 32 seconds.

Ready to Dance is an unraced 3-year-old Take Charge Indy colt out of the stakes-placed More Than Ready mare Readybdancing, whose first foal to race is a winner. He is from the family of Panamanian champion Golden Strategy and Grade 2-placed stakes winner Ecstatic Ride.

The colt was bred in Florida by the partnership of Brent and Crystal Fernung, M. Sebastian, D. Flanigan, and E. Cahalan. He was consigned by the Fernungs’ Journeyman Bloodstock Services.

Closely behind was Saucy Symphony, a 4-year-old First Samurai filly who clocked three furlongs in 32 1/5 seconds.

Saucy Symphony is unplaced in three starts, racing at Laurel Park for owner Southwind Stables and trainer Cathal Lynch.

Bred in Kentucky by Clarkland Farm, Saucy Symphony is the first foal out of the stakes-winning Songandaprayer mare Celtic Chant. Her extended family includes French classic winner Astronomer Royal, Grade 1 winner Vicar, Grade 2 winner Navesink River, and Scandinavian champion Let’sgoforit.

Niall Brennan Stables consigns Saucy Symphony, as agent.

The horses breezed over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

The OBS Winter Mixed sale takes place Jan. 24-25, beginning each day at 10:30 Eastern. Wednesday’s trade features a consignor preferred session, followed by horses of racing age, while Thursday will be an open session.
