Ready’s Image to Calumet Farm for 2015

Grade 2 winner Ready’s Image has been purchased by Brad Kelley’s Calumet Farm, and will stand at the Lexington, Ky., operation in 2015 for an advertised fee of $5,000.

The 9-year-old son of More Than Ready previously stood at Walmac Farm in Lexington, Ky. for the same fee.

Ready’s Image is the sire of three crops of racing age, led by Grade 3 winner I’m Already Sexy, stakes winners Rivers Run Deep, Leinan, and Renee’s Passion, and Grade 2-placed Big Sugar Soda.

On the racetrack, Ready’s Image won 4 of 10 starts for earnings of $310,542, highlighted by a victory in the Grade 2 Sanford Stakes and a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes. He is out of the winning Clever Trick mare Clever Phrase, whose four foals to race also include stakes-placed Yingyingying.

“Having been involved with the stud career of More Than Ready, Ready’s Image is a horse that I have admired for quite some time and we are thrilled to have him join our stallions here at Calumet,” said Calumet stallion director Ken Wilkins.

“More Than Ready is as hot as ever at stud with Verrazano retiring this year and current two-year-old Daredevil. Ready’s Image is a superb physical–something he shares with his father as well as being precocious. He is off to a fine start as a stallion in his own right, and we think he offers great value for breeders.”
