Read the Footnotes moving to Oklahoma

New York stallion Read the Footnotes has been sold for stud duty in Oklahoma, according to Chad Schumer.

Schumer Bloodstock brokered the deal for Read the Footnotes, who will stand at River Oaks Farm in Sulphur, Okla., in 2012. His fee will be announced later. The 10-year-old Smoke Glacken horse previously stood for Sequel Stallions at New York’s Keane Stud, where his fee was $6,500.

Read the Footnotes, a multiple graded winner, is the sire of last year’s Grade 1 winner Rightly So, Grade 1-placed Cribnote, graded-placed stakes winner Rereadthefootnotes, and 2011 stakes winners Socialsaul and Eminent Tale. His progeny earnings stand at more than $5.1 million from four racing-age crops.

With 2011 progeny earnings of more than $1.4 million, Read the Footnotes will jump into second place on Oklahoma’s sire list, behind Toccet, who stands at Mighty Acres.

Read the Footnotes is out of the Al Nasr mare Baydon Belle, who also is the dam of the Empire Maker stakes winner Dean Henry.
