Reach One More goes longer at Lincoln

Reach One More stretches out to a mile and will try to extend his streak of three consecutive stakes wins as he heads a field of six Nebraska-bred 3-year-olds in the $20,000 State Fair Breeders' Special at the Lincoln State Fair.

Reach One More won his maiden at first asking in his only start last year, the State Fair Futurity. He returned in March and lost for the only time in his career when seventh in the four-furlong Bachman Stakes at Fonner Park. He has since rattled off wins in the Baxter and Fonner Park Special stakes and then romped home in his first start here, with a nine-length win in the Journal Star Stakes.

This will be his first trip around three turns over Lincoln's five-eighths-mile oval, but he should be heavily favored to continue his win streak with regular rider Mike Ziegler aboard. Reach One More will be part of an uncoupled entry from trainer David Anderson, who also sends out From the Ashes.

Speedy Corvette, second in the Fonner Park Special for trainer Kim Veerhusen, should be part of a strong pace in this race. He also will be trying a mile for the first time and comes in off a strong entry-level allowance win here May 25.

Also expected to run near the lead is Sugardazzle from trainer Dan Coughlin. Sugardazzle has won two straight going six furlongs, including an entry-level allowance win here May 10. Sugardazzle defeated Speedy Corvette in their only meeting, and the added distance here will test the staying power of both colts.
