Rapper S S still on his game in Budweiser Cap


SUNLAND PARK, N.M. - Rapper S S, who set a track record for six furlongs three weeks ago, turned in another impressive effort on Saturday when he captured the $50,000 Budweiser Handicap at Sunland Park. Longshot Loves Bonus proved game for the place spot, followed by 4-5 favorite and highweight Wind Water.

Breaking sharply from the rail under Alejandro Medellin, Rapper S S ($6.60) led every step of the way and reported home 3 1/4 lengths the best in a time of 56.37 seconds for the five furlongs. The 2007 Riley Alison Futurity winner, Rapper S S is trained by Henry Dominguez and won for the fifth time in 10 starts. He is a son of Monarchos and has now banked more than $170,000.
