Raindance celebrates

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - After losing her first 11 starts in the U.S., Eurolink Raindance suddenly has put together back-to-back victories. Friday night at Hollywood Park, the 5-year-old Eurolink Raindance rallied from the back of a five-runner field to score an upset victory in the Grade 3 Wilshire Handicap for fillies and mares.

Given a smart ride by Chris McCarron, Eurolink Raindance ($20.80) saved ground at the back, angled outside into the lane, and wore down the leaders. Her time for the mile turf race was 1:34.31; she finished a head in front of 4-5 favorite Crazy Ensign. Impeach-able parlayed a rail-skimming trip into a third-place finish; pacesetter Walts Wharf tired to fourth; sprint specialist Rolly Polly pressed the pace and came up empty into the lane.

Owned by Bull Market Stable and trained by Ben Cecil, Eurolink Raindance won for the fourth time in 22 starts. An Irish-bred daughter of Alzao, Eurolink Raindance earned $63,960, increasing her career bankroll to $203,550.
