Rainbow 6 carryover of $847,840 for Thursday

Email

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The jackpot in the Rainbow 6 for Thursday at Gulfstream Park stands at $847,840 after two winning odds-on favorites Wednesday led to another carryover.

Forty-three 20-cent tickets, each worth $4,406, were sold on the winning combination Wednesday. The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out only when there is a single perfect ticket.

There were 1,040 live tickets (none for a solo) going into the last race in the sequence, the 11th race. The winning numbers were 4-4-6-10-4-4. Respective odds on those winners were 2-1, 3-1, 16-1, 3-5, 1-5, and 22-1.

Into Wednesday, there was a carryover of $766,642, which enticed another $338,397 in new money.

The Rainbow 6 has not been hit by a solo winner in 18 racing days, since Feb. 12, when one patron hit for $133,874. A national pick six record was established here last May when the jackpot reached $6.6 million.

On days without a unique winner, 70 percent of that day’s pool (after 20 percent takeout) is returned on tickets with the most winners, with 30 percent added to the jackpot.

The Thursday sequence comprises races 6-11, with the sixth race set for 3:30 p.m. Eastern. With 10 races carded here Friday, the Rainbow 6 will be held that day on races 5-10.

best bet when you win. The concept for this is for the jackpot never to be won until the mandatory payout date. The jackpot gets bigger and bigger. Imagine a pot where 20% is taken out. What happens to say a jackpot of 6.6 million sits there. The host track collects massive interest on your money. Not theirs.
