Radharcnafarraige cruises in Coolmore Stud Fillies Sprint

Distorted Humor is certainly the stallion of the moment. Just two days after his 3-year-old son Drosselmeyer landed the Belmont Stakes, Radharcnafarraige, an Irish-bred 2-year-old daughter of the Kentucky-based WinStar Farm sire won the $120,000, Group 3 Coolmore Stud Fillies Sprint Stakes at Naas on Monday, thus earning herself a place in the Albany Stakes lineup at Royal Ascot next week.

Trained by Jim Bolger for Grainne Seoige in Ireland, Radharcnafarraige was winning for the first time in three starts with Kevin Manning aboard as the 2-1 favorite. She ran out a comfortable three-length winner over the Aidan O'Brien-trained Emerald Ring, clocking 1:10.43 for the six furlongs on good to firm ground.

Second and third against colts in a pair of Curragh maidens, Radharcnafarraige had broken her maiden against fillies going six furlongs at Naas on May 12. She was bred to Distorted Humor by trainer Bolger himself through the Storm Bird mare Extraterrestral.

The Albany Stakes is a six-furlong Group 3 dash for juvenile fillies that Bolger won two years ago with Cuis Ghaire.
