Racing to resume at Santa Anita

Email

ARCADIA, Calif. - Santa Anita is expected to be able to conduct its 11-race program Saturday, which includes four Sunshine Millions stakes, after track maintenance crews worked through the night on a synthetic main track that has failed to drain in recent rain storms.

Santa Anita canceled racing on both Thursday and Friday because of major rain storms. The track has lost five days of racing this month because of wet conditions.

The Saturday program is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. Pacific, with the first stakes race, the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Sprint, due off at 1:14 p.m.
