R Beau Genes shoots for two straight


CALGARY, Alberta - R Beau Genes goes for her second straight victory at the optional $40,000 claiming level here at Stampede Park on Wednesday.

Quincy Welch retains the call on R Beau Genes, a 4-year-old filly who won at the same six-furlong distance in her last start here, June 1.

The pace scenario looks favorable for her stalking style with Regal Vicky, Pretty Beaucat, and North With Will expected to be forward factors in the early going.

Teagues Fight gets revenge

Teagues Fight reversed the tables on Test Boy here Sunday in the Herald Gold Plate despite taking the overland route in the field of six older horses.

Teagues Fight avenged his defeat in the Teeworth with a powerful stretch run under Stephan Heiler.

Teagues Fight assumed command turning for home and held Test Boy safe while completing the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.60.

Teagues Fight capped a weekend stakes sweep for trainer Doug MacDonald and the Rocky Mountain Turf Club Stable.

She's Italian wins again

On Saturday, She's Italian extended her winning streak to six for the same connections with a neck victory over Braetta here in the Duchess of York.

Rider Jake Barton had She's Italian in perfect striking position throughout. When Desmond Bryan moved to the lead with Braetta, Barton and She's Italian set sail from third place at the quarter pole.

She completed the 1 1/16 miles in 1:44.40.
