Andreas Wohler, the German trainer who saddled Silvano to win the 2001 Arlington Million, may have another candidate for that race on Aug. 21. Querari, the winner of the 1 1/4-mile, Group 1 Premio President della Repubblica at the Capannelle in Rome on Sunday, is being considered for the world's oldest million-dollar race by the German trainer. A 4-year-old son of Oasis Dream, Querari rallied to defeat the odds-on Voila Ici by a head at 18.83-1. Bred and owned by Gestut Fahrhof, his best previous effort had been a victory in the 1 1/4-mile, Group 3 Euro-Cup at Frankfurt in September. Querari won his race in Italy on Sunday on heavy ground and the Euro-Cup on soft ground, but has also won a one-mile listed race at Baden-Baden on good gorund. Wohler also trained Paolini to finish sixth in the 2002 Million and second in the 2003 renewal.
