Queen's Plate pedigree analysis: Amis Gizmo

Amis Gizmo

Giant Gizmo-Galloping Ami, by Victory Gallop

Queen’s Plate favorite Amis Gizmo, who has won five of six career starts, is looking to land a major victory Sunday for young stallion Giant Gizmo.

Grade 3 winner Giant Gizmo, by Giant’s Causeway, finished among Canada’s leading sires last year. His daughter Brooklynsway won the Bison City Stakes, part of Canada’s triple tiara, and Amis Gizmo won all four of his starts, all in stakes company, as a juvenile. This year, Giant Gizmo’s stock has continued to rise, with Brooklynsway winning the Grade 3 Doubledogdare Stakes and finishing second in the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis in Kentucky and Amis Gizmo winning the Plate Trial to stamp himself as the favorite for the first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown.

In addition to that duo, Giant Gizmo is the sire of stakes winners Spin the King, Where’s the Widget, and Ruth Less Blue.

Amis Gizmo is out of the unraced Victory Gallop mare Galloping Ami. She is the dam of Grade 3 winner Ami’s Flatter, by Flatter, and stakes winner Aragorn Ami, by Giant’s Causeway’s son Aragorn.

Victorious Ami, a full sister to Galloping Ami, was a stakes winner and finished third in both the Woodbine Oaks and the Bison City. She is the dam of four winners from as many starters, including Grade 3 winner Ami’s Holiday, who finished second in the 2014 Queen’s Plate.
