Princess Christine ($3) won her fifth straight race Tuesday, taking a $16,000 optional claiming sprint at River Downs by 2 3/4 lengths. It is the seventh time the 5-year-old mare has won this year, placing her in a tie for second in most wins in the country with Head to Toe, like Princess Christine an Ohio-bred. World Gone Wrong is tops with eight victories.

Trainer Joe Woodard attributes her winning ways to two things, and the first is placing her in the right kind of race.

"What is that old saying?" Woodard said. "Keep your horses in the worst company and yourself in the best, and you will do all right."

The other reason for her great success is not so widely known.

Woodard puts his horses in a hyperbaric chamber after their races and uses a cold saltwater therapy spa. According the Woodard, it helps the horses' recuperation time

"It helps them recover naturally from a race," he said. "We don't have to use any types of medicines on them to help recuperate, and they bounce back more quickly."

Woodard claimed Princess Christine in February 2009 and at the time she was running long.

"We tried her short and then against Ohio-breds, that seemed to help," he said
