Long-distance racing is perhaps a foreign concept in the United States nowadays, so it shouldn’t (and didn’t) surprise anyone that the three foreign-breds in Saturday’s $200,000 New York Stakes swept the top three positions, as Riposte got the jump on 3-2 second choice Tannery and held that rival safe to give Juddmonte Farms and Bill Mott their second consecutive win in the Grade 2 race for fillies and mares.
