Cloud Computing, the 2017 Preakness winner for Klaravich Stables and William H. Lawrence, had his first breeze since returning to training Sunday, going an easy three furlongs in 39 seconds at the Palm Meadows training center. Trainer Chad Brown is looking to a spring campaign with Cloud Computing, who underwent surgery for an ankle chip about three weeks after finishing eighth in the Aug. 26 Travers in his final start at 3. Cloud Computing, by Maclean’s Music, has won 2 of 6 starts, highlighted by his head triumph over Classic Empire in the Preakness. The other winners of the 2017 Triple Crown events, both trained by Todd Pletcher, are in different stages of progress toward their respective comebacks after also making their most recent start in the Travers. Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming has breezed three times (Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 14) at Palm Beach Downs, while Belmont Stakes winner Tapwrit is expected to return to Pletcher at Palm Beach some time during early March from Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, Fla., where Jonathan Thomas is looking after him. Always Dreaming, ninth in the Travers, has recovered from a serious ulcer problem. Tapwrit, fourth in the Travers, has recovered from a foot injury.
