Preakness probables up to nine

The connections of both Platinum Couple and Greeley's Legacy confirmed on Tuesday that their horses are likely to run in Saturday's Preakness Stakes, bringing the expected number of starters to nine.

Joe Lostritto, the trainer of Platinum Couple, confirmed that Jose Espinoza would ride his horse. Platinum Couple was scheduled to leave Belmont Park for Pimlico by van at 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to Lostritto.

George Weaver, the trainer of Greeley's Legacy, has yet to name a rider.

At Belmont Park, trainer Tom Albertrani postponed Bernardini's Preakness workout from Tuesday to Wednesday because of sloppy track conditions.
