DEL MAR, Calif. – Flavien Prat, the meet’s leading rider and winner earlier this month of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile aboard Battle of Midway, will represent the United States in an international jockey championship at Happy Valley racecourse in Hong Kong on Dec. 6, it was announced on Wednesday by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. :: Get yourself a 20-card PPs pack today and save 60¢ per card! “It’s a big honor, he’s pumped,” Prat’s agent, Derek Lawson, said Wednesday. “It’s a huge honor to be named to compete against those riders.” The other invitees include such riding stars as Ryan Moore, Joao Moreira, Silvestre de Sousa, and Hugh Bowman, who won the competition last year and is best known for his partnership aboard Winx. Lawson said Prat will leave for Hong Kong on Dec. 1 and return on Dec. 7, in time to ride Solomini – the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile runner-up – in the Los Alamitos CashCall Futurity on Dec. 9. Solomini worked a half-mile in 47.40 seconds on Wednesday at Santa Anita. Twelve riders compete in the four-race competition, four based in Hong Kong and eight from overseas.
